Bradley J. "Brad" Masin, 53, of Ord passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at the Grand Island Regional Medical Center with his family by his side after a battle with cancer.
Bradley Joseph Masin was born September 22, 1970, at Ord, Nebraska to Larry Dale and Mary Lois (Osborn) Masin. He grew up in Ord and the North Loup Valley where he was able to experience the outdoors; camping, fishing, goose hunting; and football. Brad received his education at Ord Elementary School and graduated from Ord High School in 1989.
He furthered his education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, College of Agriculture Science and Natural Resources where he earned a BS in Agriculture Sciences in 1994. One of Brad's biggest joys of his college days was being a part of the Nebraska Cornhusker Football team working as the Equipment Manager from 1989 to 1994.
Following college Brad worked for Serva-Tech Ag at Ainsworth. On August 4, 1994, his life took a turn due to a spinal injury. Brad spent the next four months at the Rehabilitation Center in Craig, Colorado. He returned home, to Ord and in May of 1995, he began his career at Ord Equipment, now Titan Machinery where he worked for 28 years.
Brad served on the Ord City Council from 2011 to 2021; and he was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 38 for 27 years. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing and camping. Brad loved everything about football and participated in fantasy football.
He is survived by his parents; Larry and Mary of Ord; a brother, Patrick of Ord; niece, Hayley Masin of Loveland, Colorado; nephew, Joshua Masin of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and a host of friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Masin, Lillian Masin Howell, and Wilbur and Lois Osborn; and step-grandfather, Everett Howell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023; at the Ord First United Methodist Church. Reverend Spenser Johnson will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Ord Bohemian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Family's Choice.
