Dale Manchester

Dale E. Manchester, Sr., 90, of Ord passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at the Valley View Senior Village in Ord.

Mr. Manchester's wishes were to be cremated. A family gathering will be held at a later date.

Dale Eugene was born June 8, 1929, at North Loup, Nebraska to Clarence and Esther (Jensen) Manchester. He spent his childhood in Ord where he also received his education.

Dale served in the United States Navy from September of 1948 to February of 1950.  On June 23, 1954, Dale was united in marriage to Charlotte Batorski at Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Dale and Charlotte settled in Ord in 1967. Dale worked as a mechanic and auto body repairman. The couple enjoyed collecting and selling antiques. Dale also enjoyed attending flea markets and fishing.

He was a member of the Ord VFW and Ord Elks Lodge.

Survivors include a son, Dale Manchester, Jr. of Burwell; a daughter, Deb Waits of Ord; four grandchildren, Daric Manchester, Amber Waits, Rachel Wichmann and Melissa Maldonado; and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are other children, grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlotte who died on September 22, 2012; two brothers, Lyle and Richard Manchester; and a sister, Norma Miska.
