Dolores Ann Sich, 82, of Ord passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023; at Arbor Care Center in Ord.
Dolores Ann was born April 30, 1941, at Brooklyn, New York to Edward and Katherine (O'Rourke) McCann.
Dolores met Emanuel A. Sich while he was stationed in Brooklyn, New York. The couple was united in marriage on January 29, 1961, at Brooklyn, New York. They returned to the Sich family farm east of Ord where they raised their family of four, Kevin, Shawn, Brian and Elizabeth.
Dolores worked at the Ord Elevator and was the Executive Housekeeper at the Valley County Hospital for 19 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for 61 years, where she taught CCD classes, was a Eucharistic Minister, and performed Psalm readings. It was the joy of her life to sing in the church choir.
Dolores was a Jaycee member, holding local and state offices; den mother; and weeblo leader. She belonged to the Red Hatters and Brunch Club. Dolores was a giving volunteer for the Ord Hospice for 21 years.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Molly, Brian and Donna and Shawn and Hillary; one daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and James Gdanitz; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Ron Rump; a brother, Edward "Skipper" McCann; in-laws, Duane and Julie Sich and Melvin and Karen Sich; and 10 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emanuel who passed away December 2, 2016; and a brother-in-law, Dean Sich.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023; at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Ord. Father Scott Harter will be the Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m.
The family request festive dress attire. Memorials are suggested to the Valley County Hospice.
