Edward J. Kruml of Sargent, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Valley County Health System at the age of 73.

Edward was born May 23, 1952, at Burwell, Nebraska to James and Rosie (Bruha) Kruml.  He was raised seven miles east of Sargent and received his education at District #186 rural school and Sargent High School.

Ed farmed raised cattle his entire life alongside his family on the family farm east of Sargent. His biggest enjoyment was polka dancing and accordion music. Being an outdoorsman, Ed spent time hunting deer and coyotes.  Ed was the one to call for local rainfall amounts, logging the amounts on a calendar.

He will be remembered for his big heart and the special memories made with his family, especially the nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two brothers and a sister-in-law, Laddie and Patty Kruml and Alvin Kruml all of Sargent; a sister, Evelyn Oseka of Loup City; five nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Lavern Oseka.

A celebration of Life and Inurnment in the National Bohemian Cemetery will be held at a later date.
