Gerald Everett David of rural Ord, Nebraska passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the age of 69.

Gerald David, born May 30, 1957, in Chambers, Nebraska, the son of Virgil Everett and Doris Evelyn (Welch) David. His early years were spent in Ord, Nebraska and surrounding areas, where he completed his education at a local country school before graduating from Ord High School in 1975.

Gerald began his career at a power plant in North Platte, eventually moving into the oil field industry in Gillette, Wyoming, in 1978. By the early 1990s, he had founded his own business, D.C. Oil Field Service, in Wyoming.

On August 4, 1984, Gerald married Barbara Dominica Ann Guesanburu. Together, they raised three children, Ryan, Shannon, and Michelle. In 1996, the David family settled on a farm northeast of Ord, Nebraska, where they established Oak Ridge Farms, nurturing livestock and starting Oak Ridge Farms Hydroponics in 2013.

After the passing of Barbara on February 14, 2015, Gerald found happiness again, marrying Kathleen Ann Lindstrom on December 15, 2017, in Las Vegas, Nevada. That same year, he embarked on a new role as a road grader for the Valley County Department of Roads.

Gerald devoted himself to farm life and always keeping busy until retirement in April 2026, due to health issues.

He enjoyed traveling and thrifting with Kathleen. Gerald was a dare devil at operating machinery, showing off to his grandkids and was proud of his “Backhoe Rodeo” awards. As an enthusiastic teacher, he shared his knowledge generously with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of Ord; a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Carrie David of Ord; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shannon and Robert Bluett of Broken Bow and Michelle and Travis Gidley of Ord; two step children, KaSarah Tallent of Aurora, Colorado and Ryan Tallent of Gastonia, North Carolina; eleven grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Londa and Doyle Wood of Berwyn; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gregg and Tammy David of Burwell, Randall and Rhonda David of Lincoln and Steve and Theresa David of Gillette, Wyoming.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barb and his special uncle and aunt, Earl and Dolores David.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Valley County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building in Ord, Nebraska. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Ord City Cemetery at Ord, Nebraska.
