Harold William Ogden a lifelong resident of Nebraska passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at St. Luke’s Village in Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 90.

Harold was born on October 28, 1935, the son of William and Freda (Beckham) Ogden. He was born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.

Harold served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960, aboard the USS Willard Keith in the Mediterranean Sea; then continued to serve in the reserves for two years.

In January of 1957, Harold and Frances Ewers were united in marriage. Following Harold’s military service, the couple settled in Stanton and were blessed with two children. Later, the family moved to Lexington. Harold made a career working in the newspaper industry in both cities. Following retirement they moved to Ord where Harold worked part time at the Ord Post Office and Ord Elementary School before fully retiring.

Harold enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Joe Hollibaugh of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kim Ogden of Omaha; two grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Ogden of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frances; grandson, Terry Hollibaugh and a great-grandson.

Harold’s wishes were to be cremated. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Frances, in the Park Valley Cemetery at Eddyville, Nebraska.
