Mark K. Lewis, 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home in North Loup, Nebraska.

Mark Kevin Lewis was born April 16, 1964, to Mary Lu Lundstedt at Lincoln, Nebraska. He spent his childhood in Lincoln and then moved to North Loup where he lived with Chuck and Leora Lundstedt and graduated from North Loup-Scotia High School in 1983.

Following graduation Mark moved to Grand Island and worked at a beef packing plant. On March 29, 1985, Mark was united in marriage to Ronda Brennick. To this union two daughters were born, Kari in 1985 and Dezma in 1990.

Life took the Lewis family to Manilla, Iowa in 1986, where Mark worked at Farmland. Mark owned and operated Lewis Enterprises, specializing in small engine repair for many years. He also drove for Wehrle Trucking hauling goods all across the country.

In 2001, the family moved to Scotia and Mark began working at Trotter's and then Frahm Construction. Mark then moved to Texas and worked on oil rigs for three years. It was in 2018, when Mark fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a bar; and became the proud owner of "The Friskie Moose Saloon" in North Loup. During that time he also worked in construction for Cannon Kokes.

Mark enjoyed target shooting and riding motorcycles. He especially liked spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his two daughters, Kari Lewis (Zach) and Dezma Behrens (Mike); three grandchildren, Lilly Gigliotti (Kari), Blaine Willett (Zach); and an expectant granddaughter in March 2024 (Dezma & Mike); four brothers, Rod Lewis, Sean Daniel (Jessica), Tim Daniel (Lydia) and Carl Lundstedt (Karin); four sisters, Sue Freese (Lenny), Tammy Miller, Diane Pearson and Karen Larsen (Randall); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Gertrude Lundstedt; mother, Mary Lu Daniel; step-father, Richard Daniel; aunt and uncle who took Mark in as their own, Chuck and Leora Lundstedt; brother, Pat Stanlea; brother-in-law, Roger Miller; a niece, Taylor Williams; and a close friend, Grace Coufal.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Carl Lundstedt will officiate.
