Pat was born in Flandreau, SD on March 19, 1946, to Raymond and EmRose (Cook) Mlinar. She grew up in Battle Creek, Weston, David City and Greeley, NE, graduating from Greeley Sacred Heart in 1964. Growing up she was an avid student, cheerleader, volleyball and softball player while winning awards in 4-H at county fairs and state competition. She played the piano and organ for church services.
Pat attended Norfolk Junior College and was married to Thomas Callahan August 28, 1965. She worked as a medical records transcriptionist. She became a full-time homemaker and devoted mother to Doug, Casey and Joy. She was a faithful Catholic her entire life. She loved music and continued playing the piano as an adult. She enjoyed her talents in art and interior design, taking related classes at UNL and Southeast Community College.
Pat was known for her kindness and caring. She worked for a time as a caregiver to mentally challenged residents, in a group home. As her health waned, she still enjoyed her visits from family and friends and her near-daily bingo and other activities provided her by her caregivers, as well as her own solitude and daily prayers. Pat's consistent goodbye was "I love you (name)" and she wanted you to know it.
Pat is survived by her children, Doug, Casey and Joy (Justin); former husband, Tom; sisters and brothers, Peg (Jerry) Slusarski, Marilyn (Bob) Janovec, Rita (Larry) Shaw, Rosemary (Cleve) Walstrom, Jean (Doug) Havermann, Mary (Bill) Voss, Regina (Ray) Paesl, John (Jane) Mlinar, Joe (Dee) Mlinar, James Mlinar, Gerard (Michele) Mlinar, Richard (Leslie) Mlinar and Robert Mlinar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and EmRose Mlinar.
