Philipp Fischer

Philipp B. Fischer, 83, of Ord passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.

Mr. Fischer's wishes were to be cremated. Inurnment will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell, Nebraska.

Philipp was born May 14, 1936, in Garfield County, Nebraska to August P. and Florence E. (Butcher) Fischer.  He was raised on farms in Garfield County where he received his early education and graduated from Burwell High School in 1953.

On August 13, 1955, Philipp was united in marriage to Donna Beth Cass at Burwell, Nebraska. Philipp worked as a heavy equipment operator; retiring in October of 2014.

Philipp enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Beth of Ord; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Karen Fischer of Ord and Philipp L. Fischer of Clarks; three daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Gordon Kriewald of Scotia, Peggy and Marlin Wegner of Burwell and Jennifer and Rolin Davis of Ord; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Fischer of Utah; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Fischer of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Dianne Fischer; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Stanley and Anne Cunningham and Elgin Fischer; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Beverly Fischer and Jessie and Gerald Scherbarth.
