Raymond King

Raymond W. King, 90, of North Loup passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at the Valley View Senior Village in Ord.

Mr. King's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life and Inurnment will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at the Hillside Cemetery in North Loup. Pastor Scott Smith will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by the Ralph R. Rich American Legion Post #285.

Raymond W. King was born January 28, 1930, in Valley County, Nebraska to Wayne and Florence (Cummins) King. He was raised in Valley County and attended Spring Creek Country School and North Loup High School.

In 1951, Raymond entered the United States Army and was a Medic in Germany during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1953.

During his life he worked at various cheese factories, including O'Neill and Newman Grove. He also drove a milk truck around the Ord and North Loup areas.

Raymond was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking through the Oak Canyon's, his childhood home. He had a love for animals, especially dogs and his beloved "Mutley".  Raymond was often seen walking around North Loup, visiting with people and playing scratch tickets. He was known to deliver his neighbors mail and newspapers.

Survivors include a sister, Anne Hooper of Palm Harbor, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joyce Bresley.
