Raymond William “Buddy” Parkes of North Loup, Nebraska passed away on August 8, 2026, at his home at the age of 70.

Raymond was born December 12, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Raymond Gerald Parkes and Anna Thornton.

He attended Berkeley College of Business and in 1996 he became a Paralegal.

Buddy was an avid reader and had a vast interest in trains. He loved his dog, Lily and enjoyed birds.

Survivors include his daughters, Anna Overmyer (Adam) of Mishawaka, Indiana and Danielle Gagnon (Robert) of Lakeland, Georgia; and grandchildren, Melody and Jace Overmyer, Jason, Olivia and Delaney Dassaro and Skyler Gagnon.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; three sisters, Barbara Ferrante, Eileen Parkes and Susan Parkes; and a nephew, Joseph Ferrante.

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
