Rollin D. Mallery, 85, of North Loup passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska.
Rollin Dale was born December 15, 1938, at Colville, Washington to Herbert "Bert" and Thelma (Mayo) Mallery. He received his early education at Sargent and Scotia, Nebraska, Borger, Texas and Sapulpa, Oklahoma, then returned to Scotia where he graduated in 1958. Growing up, his fondest memories were in the Chalk Hills area.
Rollin served in the Army Corp of Engineers from 1960 to 1962. On November 17, 1962, he was united in marriage to Maxine E. "Micki" Kaslon at Loup City, Nebraska. The couple lived in Elba for a short time before purchasing a home in North Loup where they welcomed their three children, Kathy, Steve and Mike.
Rollin worked in various capacities within construction and agriculture. He worked on the construction of the Calamus and Davis Creeks Dams; and drove a semi-truck over-the-road.
Rollin was a proud member of the "North Loup Coffee Club". He enjoyed visiting with his many friends, story telling and traveling.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Garry Lundstedt of Wellington, Colorado; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Angela Mallery of Bixby, Oklahoma and Michael and Michaela Mallery of Waverly; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Micki who passed away on April 26, 2020; a grandson, Tyler Lundstedt; infant brother, Charles Steven and a brother, Gordon.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Father Mark Maresh will be the Mass Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. at the Church. Inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery at North Loup. Military Honors will be presented by Ralph R. Rich American Legion Post #285.
