Thomas John Riddle
Thomas J. Riddle, 35, of Greeley passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. Fathers Antony Thekkekara, Sidney B. Bruggeman and Vijumon Choorackal will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday at the Church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Family's Choice to be determined at a later date.
Thomas John was born April 11, 1984, at Chillicothe, Missouri to Michael and Kathy (Sears) Riddle. He was raised in Chillicothe where he graduated from high school and then continued his education at Grand River Technical School and Fort Scott Community College.
On June 13, 2015, Thomas was united in marriage to Michelle "Shelly" Wood at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Jase and Cora. Thomas enjoyed doing anything and everything with his wife and beautiful children; especially hunting, fishing, gardening and being outdoors.
Thomas drove truck for various companies in Missouri and Iowa; including Decker, Keim and J & T Express, hauling livestock and other items. He worked as a welder for Chief Industries in Grand Island and recently drove a concrete truck for Consolidated Concrete in Grand Island. He was very knowledgeable and willing to assist with any jobs wherever he was needed.
While residing in Greeley, Thomas was a member of the Greeley Volunteer Fire Department, Greeley Rodeo Committee, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and ACI. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; especially having bonfires and gatherings where his infectious laugh and jokes would light up the party. He was great at working with his hands and welding. He was always tinkering with items and making great crafts out of various items which he called, "Redneck Engineering".
Thomas had a love for trucks and tractors with cabovers, and Allis Chalmers being his favorite. He had a knack with animals throughout his life in 4-H, hauling livestock and farming.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly and their two children, Jase and Cora Riddle all of Greeley; his parents, Michael and Kathy Riddle of Chillicothe, MO; a sister, Amanda De Jesus; his twin sister and a brother-in-law, Tabitha and Zachary Johnson all of Chillicothe, MO; parents-in-law, Bob and Tammy Wood of Greeley; three sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Tracy and Steve Eisenmann and Jimmy and Jana Wood all of Columbus, and Diane Wood and Clay Wood both of Greeley; grandparents-in-law, Jim and Peggy Zauha of Greeley; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlotte Sturgeon and Vernon and Helen Sears; and a very close aunt and two uncles, Glenda Christy, Ray Jennings and Leonard Oster.
