Virginia Sawdey
Virginia M. Sawdey, 90, of Ord passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at the Grandview Assisted Living Center in Ord.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Father Mark Maresh will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's School and Ord Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.

Virginia Marie was born February 14, 1930, at Elyria, Nebraska to Steve and Eva (Dubas) Kapustka. She was raised on the family farm near Elyria and graduated from Ord High School in 1947.
Virginia continued her education at in Pleasant Hill, California. On May 14, 1949, she married Jack Malolepszy at Oakland, California. Following Jack's death, she married Jack Sawdey Sr. in December of 1971. She returned to Ord, Nebraska in 1996, to care for her ailing parents.
Virginia was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Altar Society; and the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and cooking gourmet foods.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas S. Malolepszy of Chico, CA and David James Malolepszy of Concord, CA; a daughter, Theresa Steinbrink of Walnut Creek, CA; two step-sons, Jack Sawdey, Jr. of Fremont, CA and Dan Sawdey of Martinez, CA; four grandchildren, Stephen Malolepszy of San Diego, CA, Peter Malolepszy of San Francisco, CA, Christopher Steinbrink of Walnut Creek, CA, and Eva (Malolepszy) McCammon of Portsmouth, VA; a sister, Phyllis Murphy of Greeley, CO; and a brother, Al Kapustka of Tomball, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jack Malolepszy and Jack Sawdey, Sr.; two daughters, Kathleen and Sharon Malolepszy; a brother, Herm Kapustka; and a sister, Mary K. Kapustka.
