Willard McCain
Willard Wayne McCain, 78, of Ord passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska.
Mr. McCain's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Pastor Doug Durre will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Bartlett Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Family.
For the health and safety of others social distancing and face masks are required for those attending the service.
Willard was born May 5, 1942, at Ewing, Nebraska to Wayne and Laura (Oetter) McCain. He was raised in Ericson where he graduated from High School in 1960.
Following high school he was drafted into the United States Army serving from 1963 to 1965.
On April 16, 1967, Willard was united in marriage to Shirley Marie Hrebec at Ord, Nebraska. To this union three children were born. The couple made their home in Ericson until moving to Ord in 1983.
Willard worked in many agriculture capacities including Pitzer Ranch, Wagon Hammer Ranch, as a mechanic for Ed Conner, Coash of Bartlett and Jim Stewart's Feedlot at Ord. He retired in 2004.
Willard hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching rodeos. He was an avid John Wayne fan and especially enjoyed the time spent with his family.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Dale Harbison of Ord; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kylie and Stefanie McCain and Kody and Ruth McCain all of Ord; 13 grandchildren; 1 expectant grandchild; 2 great-grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Dale McCain of Ericson, Ray McCain of Grand Island and Scott and Shari McCain of Fremont; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bob Harris of Ogallala.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; and a sister-in-law, Lila McCain.
