Wilma L. John, 94, of Ord passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Arbor Care Center in Ord, Nebraska.
Wilma Lou was born July 22, 1930, in Valley County, Nebraska to Louis F. and Emma E. (Valasek) Zabloudil. She was raised in Valley County and attended a one room country school then graduated from Ord High School in 1948.
On July 23, 1950, Wilma was united in marriage to Robert J. John at Ord, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with two children, David and Shirley.
Bob and Wilma lived their entire married life in Ord. They enjoyed camping and fishing on the weekends and daily drives together. They were inseparable; where you saw one of them, you would see the other.
Wilma was a well-known Avon Representative for 65 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Ord Elks Does and an extension club. Wilma enjoyed yardwork, crocheting and crafts.
Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Robert "Bob" of Ord, a son, David John; a daughter, Shirely Smith both of Ord; four grandchildren, Matt John, Jackie Krason, Jayme John and Joshua Treptow; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ernie Zabloudil; daughter-in-law, Tracie John; son-in-law, Don Smith; parents-in-law, Joe and Ida Mae John; and brother in-law and sister in-law, Thad and Roberta Meese.
Mrs. John's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
